Research Engineer
Tianyu Chen is the research engineer for the Orthopaedic Robotics Laboratory. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering. Tianyu is currently working on a variety of research projects in the lab involoving the knee and shoulder joints.

Post-Doctoral Researcher
Luke Mattar is a Bioengineering post-doctoral researcher in the Orthopaedic Robotics Laboratory and his work was supported by a National Institutes of Health grant. Luke graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor's of Science in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Biomechanics. Luke's work is focused on predicting the outcome of exercise therapy for treatment of rotator cuff tears based upon in vivo kinematic analyses and various other parameters.

Post-Doctoral Researcher
Jumpei Inoue is an orthopedic surgeon from Nagoya City University in Japan. His research interests are shoulder biomechanics using the robotic system and ultrasound. His current research focuses on individual capsule repair based on non-recoverable strain after glenohumeral joint dislocation.

Research Fellow
Svenja Höger is currently a research fellow in the Orthopaedic Robotics Laboratory from Germany. She is a second year resident in the Orthopaedic Department to the Technical University in Munich. Her current work is focused on the bony morphology of the knee with regard to the morphology the quad tendon.

Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, Associate Professor
Enes is an orthopedic surgeon from Istanbul, Turkey. He is also a member of the editorial team of KSSTA (Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy). He is interested in arthroscopic surgery around the knee and sports medicine. His research interest focuses on the association of knee morphology and ligaments, biomechanics and meniscus.

Orthopaedic Surgery Resident
Zach Herman is a second year Orthopaedic Surgery resident at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center training to become an Orthopaedic Surgeon. His current work includes looking at effect of shoulder dislocation and correlating glenohumeral surface area with non-recoverable strain.

Orthopaedic Surgery Resident
Gillian is a second year Orthopaedic Surgery resident at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center training to become an Orthopaedic Surgeon. She is currently working on shouldering dislocation project to correlate capsule surface area and non-recoverable strain.

Undergraduate Student Researcher
Mark Morgan is a second-year undergrad in the Bioengineering department at the University of Pittsburgh. He is a research assistant currently helping with studying shoulder dislocations by tracking non-recoverable strain on cadaveric models. Mark is most interested in prosthetic development and is researching biomechanics to expand his understanding of joint and tissue function.

Undergraduate Student Researcher
Ryan Fry is an undergraduate bioengineering student at the University of Pittsburgh. Ryan’s current work in the Orthopaedic Robotics Laboratory is focused on creating 3D models of the glenohumeral capsule to track surface area changes and resultantly improve repair procedures. In the future, he plans on working in the medical device industry.

Undergraduate Student Researcher
Jayson Baggett is a second year undergraduate student at the University of Pittsburgh studying Bioengineering. His current research project focuses on quad tendon strain tracking. In the future, he is planning on working in the biomedical device industry.
