Yugma Patel is an incoming Ph.D. student in Bioengineering at Georgia Tech, with a strong foundation in both engineering and translational medicine. She recently completed a combined B.S./M.S. program in Bioengineering and Medical Product Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh, where she also minored in Chemistry. Her academic and professional path is deeply influenced by her upbringing, her family's journey, and a strong desire to see science improve real lives—particularly in under-resourced communities. With a blend of hands-on clinical insight, product development experience, and design thinking, Yugma brings a holistic perspective to bioengineering challenges.
