How can you get started?
It's exciting but can also feel overwhelming as there are many choices available to you! We have many different ways for you to begin your research and select the program that is right for you!
First, lets start with the basics:
- Currently enrolled Pitt student (undergraduate and graduate)
- 2.75 minimum GPA (be aware some programs have a higher GPA requirement)
- Completed 24 or more credits at Pitt as a full-time undergraduate student (graduate student minimum credit requirements may differ)
- Academic and disciplinary record reviews
- Be at least 18 years old by your program’s start date

Some things to consider:
- Is a semester or short-term experience right for you? Would research abroad be your choice?
- Do you speak a language? You can take engineering courses in English in many locations!
- Are you co-oping, interning or researching as well? When is the right time to fit this experience? Check out sample academic plans from other students in your major
