Have you had any memorable experiences during the program?
I had a successful interview experience with Illumina, a genome sequencing biotech company in the San Francisco Bay Area. There was a videotaped interview, a technical phone interview, and lastly an on-site personality assessment event I had to fly out to. I will be working for them this summer as a Chemical/Bioengineering intern.
How has the Pitt BioE undergraduate program helped you grow?
The BioE undergraduate program has infinite resources. There is always a professor or student that has done what you are interested in and is more than willing to help. This fosters the ability to pursue your interests.
Any advice for future bioengineering students?
Figuring out what you want to do when you graduate and learning the skills you need to get there is the main goal of college. Try not to lose sight of this!
Also, join the BMES Mentorship program.
What are your future plans?
I hope to spend some time in the Bay Area when I graduate, hopefully working at one of the many biotech companies.
Why should someone choose Pitt BioE?
