Next group member intro:
Felix Cassin is a postdoc in our group, focusing on nano-scale adhesion, friction, and wear of crystalline materials.
Born and raised in Germany, he did his bachelor's, master’s degree in Mineralogy, studying meteorites. For his PhD Felix changed his research field to Materials Science, studying the fundamentals of friction on 2D materials. This was followed up on with a postdoctoral position in Amsterdam from 2020 to 2022 where he focused his efforts on capillary adhesion. He joined the Jacobs Research Group late 2022 with the goal to understand how surfaces evolve on the nano-scale when sliding or making contact with another material in different environments.
In his spare time Felix enjoys sewing, leatherwork, metalwork, and hiking with his dog Hazelene.
