The University of Pittsburgh has adopted the Elements information management system as its official record for faculty data. To maintain the most accurate and up-to-date information, the Swanson School of Engineering has developed a way to populate SSOE website profiles directly from the Elements live data feed. Now when an edit is made in Elements, the changes will automatically be synchronized to the corresponding SSOE faculty profile. The SSOE profiles will display a short form version of the more extensive data, highlighting the most popular CV categories, such as “education/training” or “publications.”
Elements/Faculty Information System Website:

- New faculty should log in once to automatically create a profile in the system.
- “Claim” your publications so they will display on the SSoE website profiles
- “Favorite” only the specific research interests you want to display on the website
- “Order” your Academic Appointments so the first one listed displays on the website
- “Add” social media or personal websites to the Web Addresses area so they display on the website
- “Edit” profiles to include Overview, Academic Appointments, Education and Training
