Congratulations on your admission to the Swanson School of Engineering for Fall 2025!
We understand that choosing a college is a difficult decision, so the Swanson School of Engineering wants to provide ample opportunity for you and your family to connect with us. Below are events, in collaboration with the Office of Admissions, to help you in your college decision!
Benedum Hall Tours and Engineering Information Sessions
Visitors will watch a Pitt Engineering overview presentation covering the first-year engineering curriculum, experiential learning opportunities, support systems, clubs and organizations, and campus life.
They will then be taken on a Benedum Hall tour to see engineering classrooms, office spaces, labs, makerspaces, study locations, and where to find student services, led by a current engineering undergraduate student.
Additionally, our Engineering Diversity & Inclusion Student Resource Meet & Greet gives prospective students the opportunity to learn more about Pitt EXCEL and how the EXCEL Family in Swanson could be a great fit for you! This visit is for students who are historically underrepresented in engineering.
Pitt EXCEL is the comprehensive undergraduate diversity program housed in the Swanson School of Engineering. Our program is committed to the retention, development, and graduation of historically underrepresented engineering scholars. As the mother Minority Engineering Program (MEP) in the nation, Pitt EXCEL started as IMPACT in 1969 and began a long legacy of supporting scholars through their journey here at Swanson and beyond. Our mission is to continue that effort through targeted systems of support (Programming, Community, Advising, etc).
