Why you chose Pitt:
I chose Pitt because of the Industrial Engineering department. I knew I wanted to be an Industrial Engineer and work in entertainment, but I didn’t want to go to a school where the department was too big to navigate. Not only is the IE department at Pitt small enough that I don’t feel like I go unnoticed, but it has a strong connection with entertainment Co-op programs and the department is ranked one of the best in the world.
Advice to a First Year Engineering Student:
Join clubs and activities inside and outside of engineering. Being well-rounded and participating in your hobbies will make you an overall happier freshman and engineering student.
Extracurricular involvement and Future Goals:
I am currently involved in The University of Pittsburgh Women’s Choral Ensemble, Pitt Zisha, Society of Women Engineers, Pitt Running Club, and Pitt Musical Theater Club. In my undergraduate experience, I plan to study/intern abroad and co-op with an entertainment or retail company. After I graduate, I hope to pursue graduate school and work in the entertainment industry.
