Why you chose Pitt:
I was very impressed by Pitt’s engineering program. I also loved the idea of living on a city campus. Because of Pitt’s location, there were so many opportunities for outside the classroom experiences that excited me! UPMC is in the middle of our campus, which makes it easier to find medical experiences and research, which was very important to me. Additionally, I loved the community atmosphere on Pitt’s campus.
Advice to a First Year Engineering Student:
Try to stay ahead of the work in your classes. It’s much easier to stay ahead than to try to catch up once you’ve fallen behind. Make friends with people in your classes, and study in groups, because it helps you figure out what you do and don’t understand. Get involved in a club related to your major, but also do something fun. Engineering school is hard, you’ll appreciate having something fun and different to do.
Extracurricular involvement and Future Goals:
BMES (Biomedical Engineering Society) Mentorship Program I plan on attending medical school after graduation.
