Why you chose Pitt:
I chose Pitt because of the overall welcoming atmosphere both the campus and the school of engineering provide. When visiting campus, I noticed that students overwhelmingly took pride in the university, and with the small size of the school of engineering in a large university, it felt like a close-knit community.
Advice to First Year Engineering Student:
Don’t be afraid to work with other students and form study groups, and always get help if you’re unsure in a class. Professors and TA’s have plenty of office hours and are always willing to help. Make sure you go to our dining hall The Perch on Wednesday nights for chocolate chip pancakes!
Extracurricular involvement and or Future Goals:
I am the mechanical sub-team lead for the Society of Astronautics and Rocketry Team and a member of French Club. I am currently involved in renewable energy research as well. My future goals post-graduation are to get a job in either the aerospace or green energy industry, become fluent in French, and eventually get a Masters degree in engineering.
