Why you chose Pitt:
I came to Pitt because I wanted a large, urban school with competitive sports teams. Once here I fell in love with the unique environment created in the Swanson School of Engineering. The sense of collaboration and not competition, along with the freedom to explore interests and the support offered to each individual student are truly central to the Pitt engineering experience. Everyone here at Pitt wants you to succeed, and I could tell that I would form a community of friends and faculty here at Pitt engineering.
Advice to First Year Engineering Student:
Go out and get involved! You’ll never have a greater opportunity than your freshman year to explore all your passions and make connections that will last your entire college experience. Approach everything with an open mind, try new things, take risks and put yourself out there no matter how scary it might feel to go out of your comfort zone. The more you try, the better your experience will be.
Extracurricular involvement and or Future Goals:
Extracurricular Involvement - Society of Women Engineers, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Intramural Soccer, Club Cross Country, Pitt Dance Marathon and works as a University Honors College Peer Mentor
Future Goals - I would like to potentially co-op and hopefully study abroad before graduation in 2020. From there I would like to work in industry after graduation and eventually return to school for an MBA.
