Why you chose Pitt:
Distance from home, size, and location were three significant reasons that led me to Pitt. However, these qualities are not specific to Pitt. The most impactful factors that led to my decision to attend Pitt were the vast opportunities to find a co-op and not fall behind your peers. Simultaneously, the flexibility offered in deciding specifically which engineering major I would like to end up in helped my otherwise very undecided mind.
Advice to First Year Engineering Student:
Live in an LLC. Don’t go on your phone in class. You’ll have a lot of free time the first two weeks, so go to EVERY club that you can and narrow down from there.
Extracurricular involvement and or Future Goals:
Movies Everyone Should See (MESS)
Scientists, Engineers, Mathematicians for Service (SEMFS)
University Honors College Peer Advisor
I plan to co-op starting this spring and follow the normal rotation schedule and graduate August 2020. With that experience, I’m going to move to New York City and thrive in my favorite city in the world. I’ll hopefully be working a job that deals with communication abilities or security measures.
