What to Expect?
Our Online Classroom – We combine our online and on-campus classes in order to create a collaborative learning environment of students with similar interests but diverse educational and professional backgrounds. We understand that our online students need flexibility as well, which is why our commitment is to allow students to join a lecture online, view a recorded lecture, or even attend an on-campus class when possible.
Our online students interact with classmates and professors using a variety of methods which include:
- Assigned Faculty Advisor to guide your studies
- Department Graduate Administrator to provide academic support
- Blackboard/Canvas Web-based Course Management System
- Adobe Connect allowing online chat feature and microphone use
- Skype for Business
- Discussion Boards
- Emails via your new pitt.edu account
- Student Production Assistant during lectures to facilitate classroom engagement and provide technical support
Course Schedule – Our online courses follow the same semester schedules as our on-campus courses (Fall, Spring, Summer). Online students can complete their programs part-time (less than 9-credits per semester). Learn more about our academic schedule here:
