Mission

The Society of Astronautics and Rocketry (SOAR) is the premier aerospace engineering organization at Pitt. SOAR seeks to provide meaningful, hands-on engineering experience tailored towards the aerospace industry. Founded in 2018, the organization has grown rapidly. Currently, students in SOAR are competing in three separate competitions, each with their own unique engineering challenges.

  • Winner of the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS) Technical Project of the Year Grant (2021-2022)
  • Most Innovative Design at the RASC-AL Mars Ice Competition (2020 - 2021)
