Shivani Tuli

Shivani Tuli received her B.S. in Bioengineering with minors in Economics, Industrial Engineering, and Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh, and her M.Eng. in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University. 

Her graduate research focused on developing novel medical devices, including a breast cancer screening device and an oral drug delivery system for biologics. She has extensive experience in cellular and tissue engineering, as well as automation of stem cell therapies and cellular extraction processes from her time at Deka R&D. As a Research Associate at Cornell University, Shivani worked on a novel breast cancer screening device and intrauterine drug delivery devices, and has written multiple SBIR grants. Her research interests span bio fabrication, cancer and women’s health research. 

Prior to her academic role, Shivani worked as a Systems Engineer at Deka Research and Development, where she designed automation solutions for medical devices. She has also gained valuable industry experience through internships and collaborations with companies such as Bayer Pharmaceuticals, West Pharmaceuticals, and Cypher Medical.

Throughout her career, Shivani has demonstrated leadership in various projects and competitions, winning awards in entrepreneurship competitions and hackathons. She is also committed to volunteer work, having contributed to setting up a pathology and microbiology lab for underprivileged populations in India.

She is currently at the Shrike lab, at Harvard University pursuing research in bio-fabrication of blood vessels and organs on a chip technology for drug testing and disease modeling.
