Andrew Orenberg

PhD Student

summary

I am a 4th year PhD student working on two main projects in the lab: 1. Exploring the role of Pfn1 in modulating Phosphoinositide Metabolism and its consequences on cell migration 2. The novel role of Pfn1 in ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) progression into invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC). I am also presently a fellow for the Cardiovascular Bioengineering Training Program (CBTP) T32 here at the University. I previously graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst where I designed and characterized a pH-responsive alginate hydrogel for oral drug delivery, but I am originally from Westfield, NJ.  When I am not in the lab, you can find me spending time with my cat, crocheting, going to the gym, or playing volleyball in the summer.
