Teaches a range of interdisciplinary graduate and undergraduate courses in crystallography, materials science, and thin film materials for majors and non-materials science and engineering majors. In recent years has focused on teaching the introductory materials engineering survey course (ENGR 0022 - Structure and Properties of Materials) to sophomore engineers, materials structure-property-processing laboratories (e.g., MEMS 1010 - Experimental Methods in Materials Science and Engineering), and has developed a new school-wide undergraduate course on nanatechnology (ENGR 0241 -Fabrication and Design in Nanotechnology). In the last five years has mentored interdisciplinary senior design projects for materials science, engineering physics, and mechanical engineering majors on wetting and evaporation, pattern formation, the structure of collagen, cell mechanics, nanoparticles transport, dimensional metrology, and drop-on-demand fabrication of organic displays. Has mentored pre-college and college students from under- represented groups including HBCUs.
