Minors & Certificates
Minors and certificates offer engineering undergraduates the opportunity to enhance their education and distinguish themselves when pursuing a particular career. These academic credentials identify additional skills, knowledge, and abilities that you have acquired beyond the bachelor degree.
Obtaining a minor or certificate usually requires completing a focused series of five or more courses. With proper planning, one or more courses can be used to satisfy requirements of both the major and minor, or major and certificate. At the Swanson School, each department maintains its own requirements for obtaining a minor or certificate, many of which are interdisciplinary. Please contact your undergraduate advisor or administrator for additional information.
