SENIOR FACULTY MENTORS

Senior mentors are critical to the activities of the CFE, providing scientific and strategic insights, professional connections, regular performance feedback and advocacy for the junior faculty members. Each junior faculty member in Program LE2AP has a senior mentoring committee formed of 4-5 established faculty members, at least one of whom is outside the department and is potentially with another university.

To date, there have been over 200 mentoring meetings with more than 130 senior faculty mentors drawn from across all six departments of the Swanson School of Engineering, the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Pitt’s Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences. Mentors from a number of departments at Carnegie Mellon University and other non-local universities have also participated in our LE2AP mentoring program.
