Gary Euler serves as the Associate Director of the Impactful Resilient Infrastructure Science and Engineering (IRISE) research consortium and as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He has 40 years of experience in transportation systems management in both the public and private sectors. His areas of expertise are Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) and include program and project management and systems planning and engineering. His career was split almost equally between the Federal Highway Administration, where he last served as Deputy Director of the ITS Joint Program Office, and as a business development lead with one of the nation’s leading system integrators. In addition to his assignments at Pitt, Mr. Euler is works part-time as an independent consultant on assignments involving ITS/TSMO matters, including as the facilitator for the annual National Operations Academy hosted by the University of Maryland.
