Andrea completed her undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and mathematics at Duquesne University. As a third-year graduate student in Bioengineering, she is working to develop novel radiofrequency transmit coils to be used in ultra-high field MRI of the human brain. These coil systems will be utilized in numerous studies in collaboration with the department of Psychiatry. She presented this work at the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM) 2021 annual meeting and co-authored two additional ISMRM abstracts. Additionally, she is developing image processing techniques for studying small vessel disease in a variety of psychiatric disorders.
