Center for Industry Studies Seminar
On Thursday, December 4th, 2025, IE hosted a seminar highlighting the work of the 2024-2025 Center for Industry Studies Transdisciplinary Award recipients. The seminar was attended by PhD students and representatives from the following transdisciplinary teams:

Attendees heard updates about the research progress that was made in the past year during presentations from Bo Zeng (Leverage Electric School Buses to Achieve Healthier Transportation and Stronger Sustainability within the University of Pittsburgh), William Harbert and Khurram Naeem (Using Dark Fiber for Anomaly Detection and Geotechnical Analysis of Foundation Materials), and James Westbay (Development of Phototonic Crystal Hydrogel Sensors for Detection of Biomarkers to Diagnose Glaucoma). It was inspiring to hear about the impactful, inspiring and creative research being conducted by these transdisciplinary teams!
