One Pass Epidural Needle - Dual-Lead Spinal Cord Stimulator

The IDEA Lab collaborated with Dr. Trent Emerick at UPMC to develop the One Pass Epidural Needle, a novel device that allows two spinal cord stimulator leads to be inserted sequentially through a single introducer. Using iterative design, prototyping, and materials testing, the Lab optimized the technology to make procedures faster, safer, and more comfortable for patients by reducing procedural pain, X-ray exposure, and anesthesia requirements. This project ultimately led to the formation of Nocix Technologies.
