Research:
Matthew's research takes advantage of endogenous signaling pathways between the body's immune system and functional cells (i.e. fibroblasts, cardiomyocytes, epithelium). Specifically his focus is to design new therapies to treat cardiac remodeling following myocardial infarction that take advantage of these endogenous signaling pathways in which a key focus is utilizing the body's own macrophages and regulatory T cells.
Mr. Borrelli’s research focus is to design new therapies to treat cardiac remodeling following myocardial infarction.
