Ellie Charchenko is a Special Advisor in the EPA’s Office of the Administrator. Since January 2023, she has led the design and implementation of EPA’s Solar for All grant program—a $7 billion investment in low-income residential solar funded by the Inflation Reduction Act. She has also advised on several of the EPA’s environmental justice initiatives including the recently announced $25 million Environmental Justice Climate Corps and the $2 billion Community Change Grant program. Prior to joining the EPA, Ellie worked at McKinsey & Company as a management consultant where she helped electric utilities, clean-tech companies, and financial institutions decarbonize and capture opportunities presented by the transition to a sustainable economy. Ellie graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and minor in History.
