News From LeanMed
CMI leader and LeanMed founder, Mark Adkins, recently shared some fantastic news with us. LeanMed’s O2 Cube, a solar-powered medical oxygen generator for rural communities, recently began its path towards FDA approval using the FDA’s Fast Track pathway. This will allow LeanMed to bring the O2 Cube to those who need it faster, which is critical for those communities dealing with the respiratory diseases and complications caused by SARS-CoV-2.
To help finance this process and create working systems, LeanMed has received donations from Philips, GoalZero, and Masimo, and recently moved into Round 2 of three of the University of Pittsburgh Innovation Challenge (PInCh) which awards up to $555,000. LeanMed is also working with Pittsburgh-based LifeX Labs to donate its first O2 Cubes to rural health clinics in Uganda.
