Jean Chen
Jean Chen is a senior undergraduate student at the University of Pittsburgh, pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Over the course of her studies and professional experiences, she has developed proficiency in various programming languages such as Python, C, and Java, along with industry-standard CAD modeling and finite element analysis (FEA) software such as Solidworks, SpaceClaim, Abaqus, and Mechanical. Over the past year, Jean worked as a Quality Assurance intern, where she gained valuable knowledge in testing simulation products and developed scripts for automated testing and defect tracking. Jean is currently working as an undergraduate research assistant at Pitt’s Risk Analysis and Reliability Engineering (RARE) Lab. Her research focuses on improving risk analysis model’s computational efficiency through the use of probabilistic graphical models as a surrogate of high-fidelity physical simulation, such as computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and FEA.
