Post-Doc

The Cardiovascular Health Tech Laboratory within the Departments of Bioengineering and Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for two Postdoctoral Fellow positions.

The NIH-funded Laboratory has various projects for establishing new technologies for cardiovascular patient monitoring including wearable and wearable devices (e.g., smartphones) for measuring blood pressure and tracking heart failure and hospital and implantable devices for advanced hemodynamic monitoring.  The Laboratory has seamless access to patients at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC).

The two positions involve innovating and validating (1) data analytic techniques including machine learning and (2) sensors and instrumentation for the active as well as new projects.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Bioengineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related area; the ability to work as part of a team of engineers, scientists, and clinicians; and motivation and relevant experience in cardiovascular technologies.

The appointment is intended to be for two years with the possibility of an extension.  The start date is flexible with a preference for candidates that can begin as soon as possible.  Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.

The Department of Bioengineering is fully committed to a diverse academic environment, and we place high priority on identifying female and underrepresented minority candidates.

Please include in your application a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and contact information for three references to Prof. Ramakrishna Mukkamala (rmukkamala@pitt.edu). For further information about these positions, please contact Dr. Mukkamala directly.
