The Department of Bioengineering and the First Year Engineering Program at the University of Pittsburgh in the Swanson School of Engineering invite applications from accomplished individuals with a PhD or equivalent degree in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, or closely related disciplines for an appointment stream faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank. We wish to recruit an individual with a primary interest in teaching in the First Year Program and the Bioengineering department, and a secondary interest in conducting research relevant to translational bioengineering and/or the Engineering Education Research Center. Expertise in design, innovation and entrepreneurship in the biomedical arena enables the Department to focus more on design and adds to the curricular base of the First Year Program.  Additional desired attributes include accomplishments in disciplinary and/or engineering education research and established pedagogical track record in working with engineering students. This position will be housed in the Bioengineering department.
